Lighthouse Point Personal Trainer | Ready To Get You In Shape!
Looking for a personal trainer in Lighthouse Point?
If you’re new to working out, or it’s been a while, you know that it can be intimidating to take that first step. A quarter mile jog, interspersed with some walking, may be all you can manage at first. Likewise, you may feel self-conscious if your first foray into the free-weight room has you hiding in the corner with 10 pound dumbbells as you watch others easily curl 40 pounders.
These feelings of inadequacy often keep people from going to the gym at all. Similarly, people dealing with an injury, like tendonitis, or chronic illnesses, such as diabetes or arthritis, often feel there is no point in working out due to their limitations. You’ll often hear people say things like “when I lose some weight, then I’ll start working out” or “my condition makes it impossible for me to any kind of exercise”.
It’s a bit of an oxymoron thinking that you’re not in good enough shape to begin working out. Whatever shape you’re in right now is the perfect shape to begin or restructure your workout.
With over 20 years of personal training experience, and having been a national level bodybuilder, college football player and lifetime athlete, Joe is fully equipped to help overcome such obstacles as injuries and limitations. There’s no need to let your fitness be sidelined by previous injuries or lack of exercise experience. As a matter of fact, part of your doctor’s recommendations probably includes exercise. You just have to get out of your own way.
But starting is always the hardest part. Especially if you want to be safe and not exacerbate your injury or illness. And dealing with your limitations may be exhausting enough without the additional research needed to find the proper exercises and suitable equipment for your exact condition. One bad workout that results in a flare up can mean the difference in a healthy new lifestyle and sitting on the couch in defeat.
Working with a master personal trainer like Joe means you’re getting a system tailored just for you. Because fitness is not only Joe’s job, but also his passion, he makes it a point to stay up-to-date on all of the latest research on exercise and nutrition methodology. That means he will be able to keep your workouts fresh, exciting, safe and effective.
One of the greatest advantages of working with Joe is that he loves to keep his clients engaged in their own training by explaining how a particular exercise works and why it’s important. And as a trainer to other trainers, it’s no wonder Joe is simply the best choice, no matter what your current fitness level.
Waiting for all of your injuries to go away, your energy to increase or your weight to miraculously drop via magic wishes will not improve your situation and may actually make things worse. There’s almost always something you can do to take control of your health that beats sitting on the couch waiting.

Fitness At 40
Times have changed, and 40 isn’t “old” anymore; in fact, when you’re over 40, fitness is essential to staying healthy.
The three main components of staying fit at any age are cardiovascular (aerobic) exercise, strength training, and maintaining a healthy diet. For example, because we lose muscle mass as we get older, it’s important to eat enough protein to combat this. Osteoporosis is another concern as we age; not only is it important to get enough calcium, regular weight-bearing exercises can help slow loss of bone density. As we age, flexibility decreases, so it’s important to continue to stretch on a regular basis. Our metabolism slows, making weight loss more of a challenge.
If you’re returning to exercise after an extended time off, it’s important to start slowly in order to avoid injury. As we get older, not only do we become more prone to injury, those injuries take longer to heal. Talk to your doctor to prior to beginning any exercise program.
Working with a personal trainer is a great option for staying fit. Your personal trainer will have the experience and knowledge needed to adapt your workout to your strengths and weaknesses. Your trainer can help keep you from injuring yourself by making sure you use good form and don’t push yourself too hard.
Once you get in shape, maintenance is the next step; it’s important to keep exercising regularly. Setting goals is one important step towards fitness. Keeping those goals is another. As you set your fitness goals, it’s important to make sure they’re realistic. Our bodies change as we age, and what was easily attainable at 20 may less so at 40. Motivate yourself to keep working on your goals by celebrating your successes, and give yourself added accountability by working out with a friend or trainer.

FAQS:
A: Joe’s program provides the most rapid and efficient results through superior training techniques, motivation and nutritional management.
1: Most trainers train their clients the same way that they train themselves without any thought given to the uniqueness of their client’s body. Their thinking is ” if it works for me, it”ll work for you.”
This is not a “cookie-cutter” program. Each client receives a completely custom-designed workout and nutritional program.
2: Most trainers have their clients perform the same workout every time, over and over again, for months or even years. My clients enjoy an ever-evolving workout that changes as their bodies and needs change.
We believe in adapting and customizing each workout program to the needs, desires and abilities of each individual client.
We are very concerned to teach excellent exercise form and posture; this creates a balanced, athletic, and attractive physique. An additional benefit of this approach is that it prevents injury.
Flexibility training is also part of the program it reduces risk of injury, increases positive circulation, optimizes nerve function, and improves the client’s sense of well being.
